Performance Podiatry & Physiotherapy - Brisbane based Sports Medicine Clinic

Physiotherapist

Ben Ward is Performance Podiatry & Physiotherapy’s in-house physiotherapist. He is a graduate of the University of QLD, achieving 1st class honours in his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 2005 and is currently undertaking a Master of Sports Physiotherapy at the same institution which will see him qualify as a sports physio in late 2009. Since gaining his physiotherapy qualifications Ben has worked exclusively in private practice and has experience in managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. His special interests include the rehabilitation of overuse injuries in endurance athletes and the management of spinal pain.

Outside his work as a physio Ben has a keen interest in sport and is heavily involved in cycling. He is a NCAS accredited level 2 cycling coach and has combined these qualifications with his physiotherapy experience to operate a business called Cycle Dynamics which provides bike fitting, video analysis, coaching and performance testing services. As a schoolboy, Ben was a national level middle distance runner and also participated in a range of other sports including cricket, rowing and cross-country running.

As a physiotherapist, Ben is committed to providing quality care backed by the latest clinical research and strongly believes in encouraging patients to take responsibility for managing their condition through active participation in their rehabilitation.
